BTW: with symlinks for these, the install worked on fedora, but I
still have booting problems. (as with any debian install on fedora
when using the fedora kernels - they do strange things and can't tell
themselves how to make it work - the same problem as described here
for a manual install:

hangs at or after crond start)

On SuSE it works nice and easy - only Text::Template needs to  be
installed via cpan cause there is no such package available.
Then xen-tools works fine there.

On SuSE there is a package conflicting with the name xen-tools (the
stuff that is called xen-utils* in Debian), so there will be problems
using alien-built rpm's.
